ABT 1949/1950, Dick was hit by a train at the crossing in Windsor Locks that went over to the next town, Warehouse Point. There was no automatic signal. The train guard signaled. Dick's car was stopped. The train went by, the man lifted the gate. Dick couldn't see the train coming from the opposite direction. He was driving Buddy's blue Buick. The train hit the side of his car. Dick was thrown out. Ginger, the dog, was thrown out through the open door. Dick was shaken but okay. When the police came, they wanted to know where the body of the driver was. The car was demolished. After the accident automatic gates were installed.
